Kingdom of Xavilar (Poison)
The largest kingdom and also the most prosperous, Xavilar trades with all other kingdoms on the continent. Duke Takahiro has done well to maintain the prosperity of the kingdom and assure its people are cared for. Grapes and vineyards are very popular, as well as horse and livestock breeding. Honey is produced on many of the vineyards. Meads, wines, and honey provide a lot of revenue. While mistrust and unrest brew closer to Larthien, Xavilar struggles to maintain its peace and continue to be a central hub for trade and travel. Xingdao is surrounded by a high stone wall. The larger cities are also surrounded by walls. A second smaller castle is located within Solxaris, which is often used as a vacation home for Takhiro and his family. This is also Emperor's homeland. He rules his own land with an iron fist, as well, but has taken over Larthien, and hopes to do the same for Beriore once the armies are strong enough. Beriore's King is a lot more powerful than Larthien's ex-King and Queen, so a takeover is going to be very difficult. Xavilar is being headed over by Emperor Vespasian's brother, Takahiro, who keeps constant communication via messenger dragon. The Tax Collector who works for the Emperor is named Lyndon.
Kingdom of Beriore (Crystal)
Colder throughout the year, but with decent springs and summers. The mountains that encompass the Crystal kingdom act as a barrier, keeping the worst of the winds away. There is one mountain pass that allows access to Wririd from here, though most have deemed it safer to travel around near the seaside. The mountains are riddled with mines where precious gems are harvested, and there are certain “farms” dedicated to cultivating minerals and gems. The main castle city is surrounded by a glimmering crystal wall. Rough hewn mineral walls surround the larger cities and towns within the kingdom. Precious gems, meat, and wool are prime trade goods. Seamstresses, weavers, and jewelers make their living here. There is a college for more delicate crafts located within the castle city. There is also a college dedicated to the studies of sciences and anatomy. Beriore is home to King Thatcher, the King of the Northern country. He is an old King, but very wise and powerful. He has been the only one to stand against the Emperor, and will not allow his Kingdom to be over run. He has his own small dragons, but relies heavily on a strong army rather than the brute force of dragons. Most of his dragon aides are lightning and fire elements, though wind has come in hand to drive the Emperor's forces away.
Kingdom of Larthien (Mixed)
Located on a peninsula, the kingdom of Larthien was easily taken over by Xavilar’s troops. Fish and seaweed is a prime trade source here. Salted and dried fish are sought after, along with tomatoes and other vegetation. The climate is largely mediteranean. High winds are common. Before it’s fall, the kingdom welcomed peoples of all kinds and was a cultural hub. Travelers gathered from all over and made settlements, which eventually turned into villages and small towns. Larthien is largely dependent on Xavilar and Kogradion for trading and survival. King Nikolai and Queen Lillias ruled Larthien with a gentle and loving hand. Under their rule, the Kingdom prospered and grew into a fertile land, where crops were plentiful and sold highly to other countries. When Vespasian turned his sights upon their land, the King and Queen were no match for his powerful army, losing their lives in the thick of battle. The Emperor now rules this land, and does not mind slaughtering those who try to oppose him. Under his rule, the land is slowly waning, and whatever riches once were in the land, are now gone. Peasants are now beyond poor, and the tax collector does not make it easy as he collects frequently and charges steep prices.
Wririd (Ice)
Cold and icy year round. The castle and main cities are built with thick, sturdy bricks. Cities are surrounded by high walls to keep out drifting snow, and specific gates have been designated for the removal of snow when it begins to build too high. The primary source of vegetation for the rough individuals who live there are typical root vegetables, including carrots and turnips, which survive the harsh weather beneath layers of frost. There are only three mountain passes deemed usable for trade and travel year round. Fat, meat, and fur are prime trade goods out, while vegetables, fruits, wine, and necessities are highly sought after. Merchants may have a difficult time getting there depending on the time of year, but their wares are often quickly bought.
Rasasha (Wind)
Large rolling fields cover a vast majority of the countryside. Trees and small forests are interspersed throughout. Farther down near the kingdom of Phorene is where the vegetation grows at its finest. Bok choy, cabbages, corn, pumpkins, eggplants, huckleberry plants, berries and other fruits are grown here in the nutrient rich soil. Their summers are hot and the winters are cold, but more mild the farther south one goes. The towns and villages all have a healthy green where gatherings are often held. Made with wood and brick and sometimes straw, the dwellings are sturdy but need regular maintenance. Only the largest towns contain walls.
Naiterra (water)
Surrounded by wetlands, and two large rivers, Naiterra is kept safe from invasion. Rice is grown in the submerged paddy fields, as well as wapato plants and barley. Grains are a large staple here, and are regularly traded with other kingdoms. Naiterra has great relations with all kingdoms. The castle is decorated in greenery, possessing a huge garden filled with plant sculptures and a maze. Murals are painted across the walls of many buildings depicting aquatic artwork.
Phorene (Lightning)
Warm throughout most of the year and perfect for the growing of fruits. Oranges, apples, grapefruits, dragon fruits, pomegranates, cocoa beans and other assorted goods grow in this almost tropical location. Many of the locations here have metal poles set into the ground to attract the lightning from storms. Glass artists are very common in the area. The cities, and the castle especially, are very articulate. Stained glass windows are a common sight. There is a college dedicated to scholars, painters, glass blowers and sculptors here.
Kogradion (Metal)
Vast forests cover much of the metal kingdom. The mineral-rich soil produces many precious metals. Korgradion is home to the mint that produces coins for currency. Lumber is also a commodity. The individuals here are used to hard work; digging, forging, and refreshing the lands to ensure the minerals and metals continue to flourish. The weather is moderate, with wet winters and warm summers. Every city and town is walled, courtesy of Slaqintis masons and bricklayers.
Slaqintis (Earth)
Another hardy location. Slaquintis is in excellent standing with its sister kingdom Kogradion. The mines are shared on certain territories. Many bricklayers and masons thrive here. There is a college dedicated to the studies for craftsmen, and many who begin life here succeed in other kingdoms. Every town, village, and city is surrounded by brick walls. Some are higher, some are lower. The castle is made of magnificent and imposing design. Weavers also provide thread and fabrics, some spun from the wool in Beriore.
Truidel (Fire)
Truidel’s kingdom is mostly desert. Dates, animal hides, goat’s milk, and Saguaro are primary trade goods. The days are hot and the nights are cold. Many inhabitants live in walled brick cities or nomadic cities of bedouin tents and stalls that can be easily loaded up and carried to new locations. Bazaar gatherings are common.
